First Day in Dunedin

Hey everyone!

So I finally made it to Dunedin today at 9:15am January 12. The best way to describe the day was BUSY. I woke up at 4am NZ time on the flight to Auckland and landed in Auckland at 5:00am. Once through customs I had to hurry over to the domestic terminal to catch my flight to Dunedin.

In Dunedin, my first order of business was to get the keys to my flat. Got that taken care of and signed my lease and I than went out to start ticking off some things on my checklist. I opened my bank account, got a cell phone, got my bedding, went to the store, and started looking for a vehicle...craziness. Even better than all that stuff, I made friends with some guys who are flat mates with Andy. We ended up getting dinner with these two guys at some asian spot in town and watched Jackass (a television show). Turns out NZ college students are pretty much the same as American College Students.

My first impression of Dunedin is great. It is beautiful! So green and lush. I went for a jog around the town this afternoon and was just in awe of how beautiful it is around here! It is almost like Juneau conceived a baby with Costa Rica, but with sheep instead of cows. Also, the people are super friendly and the town feels a WHOLE lot safer than my neighborhood in LA (no surprise).

Anyway, time to crash out.

I'll give another update soon

  2. hah DUDE that'd be way too gnarly. That hill is apparently the steepest hill in the world. ITS FUCKING STEEP. Apparently a couple kids died rolling down it in trash cans a few years back. Hows everything in LA man?
